Bill Wine talks with Tracey Matisak about the film adaptation of popular literature like The Godfather.
Which is better—the book or the movie? Emmy winner Bill Wine discusses failure and success in translating literature to film. Through conversation and film clips, host Tracey Matisak takes the audience through Bill Wine's personal experiences with film and his thoughts on the differences between reading a book and viewing its adaptation. Films discussed include To Kill a Mockingbird, The Godfather and The DaVinci Code.
Bill Wine has had a lengthy career writing about and teaching film. He served as the movie critic for Fox Television in Philadelphia for twelve years—earning eight Emmy nominations and three Emmy Awards. He currently is the film critic for Philadelphia's KYW Newsradio, and is a tenured professor of Film and Writing at LaSalle University. His writing has appeared in the Village Voice, Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and many other publications. Bill Wine also is a produced and published playwright.
